Mathematics
The mission of the mathematics program at Manalapan-Englishtown Schools is to promote and develop mathematical practices focusing on perseverance in solving problems, developing number sense, and reasoning abstractly and quantitatively. While fluency and precision are necessary components of mathematics, we strive to teach for understanding where students can explain and construct arguments to justify their thinking. The overarching goal of the program is to cultivate a sense of agency where students can utilize all available resources to solve problems in real world applications.
