Welcome to the Language Arts Homepage
The mission of the English-Language Arts program is to provide a strong literacy foundation as the essential component of all educational disciplines. The goal is for students to derive meaning through reading, writing, listening, and speaking. In order to accomplish this, we need to create a community of learners where each student is an active participant in applying developmentally appropriate skills and strategies that convey meaning.
English-Language Arts incorporate a broad range of text, including print and digital media. It is important that students are critical consumers of complex text and information, and can support their knowledge through evidence-based expression.
