Mrs. Cheryl Cammarata
Welcome to Wemrock Brook's Nurse's Office Information page!
My name is Cheryl Cammarata and I am the full time Certified School Nurse here at Wemrock Brook. I have been a nurse for 26 years. This is my 21th year as a School Nurse and my 9th as Wemrock Brook's School Nurse.
The role of the school nurse is that of healthcare promoter. School nurses practice preventative care through various screening programs during the school year.
Emergency care is provided to your child should he/she become ill or injured at school.
In order to provide quality health care during the school year, and maintain your child's optimal health, I would like to share some guidelines with you in order to clarify health concerns that may arise during the year.
Cleanliness - Make every effort to send your child to school clean and dressed appropriately for the weather and school activities. Please remember that flip-flops are not permitted in school.
Sleep/Nutrition - In order for your child to do their best, it is important they get a good night's sleep and eat a good breakfast.
Medical Conditions - To ensure the health and safety of your child, it is important that the nurse be aware of any medical conditions that may exist; i.e. asthma, allergies, diabetes, heart problems, seizures.
Medications - The administration of medication in school shall be done only when a written order from the doctor along with written parent permission. This includes prescription medications, over the counter medications, and cough drops.
Emergency Forms - This form is to be filled out accurately and completely with phone numbers you can be reached at in case of an emergency. Contact the school promptly with any changes
Immunizations - Must be current. Immunization requirements for grades K-12 can be found here: http://www.state.nj.us/health/cd/documents/k12-parents.pdf
Screenings - Screenings for blood pressure and height and weight are done annually on all students. Hearing screening is performed on students in grades 1 - 3. Vision screening is performed on students in grades 2, and 4. Scoliosis screening is performed on 5th grade students.
Please contact me with any questions. I look forward to working with you and your children.

Thank you,
Cheryl Cammarata
