Wemrock Brook School is a beautiful, state of the art building that houses over 700 first through fifth grade students. We believe that Wemrock Brook is a place our children consider their home away from home where a love of learning is created and nurtured.
We are preparing our students to be life-long learners who will be successful in the global community. Students engage in a challenging and motivating curriculum that focuses on critical thinking and hands-on learning. Teachers utilize technology to support and complement learning across all disciplines and curriculums. The worldwide web allows our students to link with the world outside of the school. Through continuous staff development, teachers acquire essential knowledge and skills to implement a program that meets students' specific needs, developmental levels, and learning styles.
Wemrock Brook School is a very exciting place to be! Beyond learning in the classroom. Our students have the opportunity to participate in various school activities, such as band and orchestra, choir, Talent Show, and Spelling and Geography Bees. Student Council is the forum where the children have a voice in the operation of the school. Our fifth grade peer assistance leaders (PALs) proudly assist our younger students. We have something to suit the interests of everyone! Additionally, Wemrock Brook School has adopted an aggressive curricular campaign to strengthen conflict resolution skills, educate in the field of essential character traits, and promote a bully-free school environment. Each month has been dedicated to the instruction and fostering of a specific character education trait: responsibility, respect, caring, trustworthiness, cooperation, citizenship, fairness, courage, perseverance and self-control.
We are fortunate to have such involved and dedicated parents whose support helps ensure the educational success of their children. In addition, our parents continually support our ambitious Parent Teacher Association by attending family fun nights and by participating in school fundraisers. These funds provide the students with cultural arts programs that further enhance the curriculum. Movie Matinees and the Fifth Grade Moving Up party are some examples of activities sponsored by our PTA.
Education is highly regarded and valued in our community. Our extremely competent staff, active Parent Teacher Association, the children, and their families work collaboratively at Wemrock Brook School to prepare our children for their future in the ever-changing world.
