School History
The John I. Dawes Early Learning Center opened its doors in the Fall of 2007. It was financed by a referendum passed by district voters to meet the needs of various segments in an expanding population. The purpose was to create an environment that would address the needs and enhance the learning experience of preschool handicap and kindergarten students.
The name of this facility honors John Dawes who has served as the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District's board attorney since 1962. The school board's policy has always been to provide a name for each school that in some way reflects local significance; however, with John Dawes' upcoming retirement, the board wished to acknowledge Dawes' four decades of dedication to Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District.

From NJ Turnpike: New Jersey Turnpike South to exit 11 (Garden State Parkway) South to Exit 123 Route 9 South to Gordons Corner exit - (on Rt. 9, you will pass Texas Road, Union Hill Road and continue down Rt. 9 to Gordons Corner Road.) Make a right onto Gordons Corner Road Proceed down Gordons Corner Road to light (Pease Road) and continue straight passing church on right - approximately 1.5 miles further is Clark Mills School on the right side of the road. The John I. Dawes Early Learning Center is attached to Clark Mills School.
From RTE 520: Make left onto Tennent Rd. Proceed down to first light. At light make right (see sign to Gordons Corner Rd) and then a quick left at next light (only a few feet away) Proceed down Gordons Corner Road to light (Pease Road) and continue striaght, pass church on the right - approximately 1.5 miles further is Clark Mills School on the right side of the road. The John I. Dawes Early Learning Center is attached to Clark Mills School.
From RTE 18: Route 18 to Morganville Exit - Rt. 520 On exit ramp - bear right - signs to Tennent Stay on Tennent Road. Pass first light which is 520 and proceed to end of Tennent Rd. At light make right (see sign to Gordons Corner Road) and then a quick left at next light (only a few feet away) Proceed down Gordons Corner Road to light (Pease Road) and continue straight, passing church on the right - approximately 1.5 miles further is Clark Mills School on the right side of the road. The John I. Dawes Early Learning Center is attached to Clark Mills School.
