Computer Science:These meets focus on the “unplugged” activities; questions that do not require any specific computer science knowledge. Three sets of “programming” and algorithmic puzzles in a paper test format. Each meet consists of 6 questions. The meet has a time limit of 30 minutes.
WordMasters Challenge: These contests are analogy solving competitions that encourage growth in vocabulary and verbal reasoning. They help students learn to think both analytically and metaphorically while addressing higher-level word comprehension. Students study a word list prior to competing in the challenge. There are three meets.
All students will receive a certificate for participation. The top three participants in each grade will receive a medal. Our top scores will be entered on the state website to compete against other schools. Students must complete these contests without parent or teacher support.
