The Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District utilizes a Problem Solving Model (PSM) as a key element of its comprehensive educational approach. This model delivers both academic and social-emotional support through a range of district-provided interventions and resources.
The Reading and Math Response to Intervention (RTI) framework is a multi-tiered system designed to identify and support students who are struggling.
The RTI process begins with high-quality, differentiated core instruction and universal screening for all students. Those identified as needing additional help receive targeted interventions that increase in intensity based on individual needs. These supports are outlined in Tiered Intervention Plans, and student progress is closely monitored to evaluate learning rates and responsiveness, guiding instructional decisions accordingly.
Parental involvement is an essential part of the RTI process. Families are regularly informed about instructional strategies, interventions, benchmark data, academic goals, and student progress through phone calls, letters, or meetings. Tier 3 Intervention Plans also include a home-based intervention component to further support student growth.
